To our surprise, some important events actually occured in conjunction of this. It might be just his “fake” birthday yesterday.. BUT Siwon thanked his fans for the birthday wishes.. the US Citizens got over excited and mentioned Choi Siwon TWICE on their tweets, pushing “Choi Siwon Choi Siwon” to the top of the list.. and a well-known UK media “The Independent” mentioned Choi Siwon being one of the trending topics in one of their articles, as quoted below:

The ‘now playing’ hashtag has retaken the top position in the list of trending topics on Twitter on February 10 at 9:30 AM GMT.

Members of Korean boy bands are a popular topic of conversation on Twitter. This morning people are sending out birthday wishes to Super Junior member Choi Si-won. The singer and actor is celebrating his 23rd birthday on February 10.

…more

Even though it is impossible to expect the mention of yesterday being his “on-paper-only” birthday, it was definitely more than enough for us. Well, actually hoping they would be kind enough to mention us (TwELFs) as the trend initiator but…. of course it’s hard for them to track back.. or for anyone else for that matter. Ever since we got bigger, no one would even bother to credit us.. so we’re kinda get used to it. ^^

For the record, we trended him for 7 HOURS and Choi Siwon broke #sorrysorry record on “Fastest Appearance” category. Well done everyone…

Thank you to other Super Junior fanbases who supported us in this project.. @sjunitedph, @3rdchapter, @sujunesia, @hatobrazil, @sapphirepearls, @polarelle, @forsujuindo.. as well as other fandoms: @onetvxqforums, @sfinee, @BBVIPForum, @KaraTweetholic, @rocketboxx, @DBSKnights, @weareshining, @EmpireChildren, @taeyang_heaven and many more..

Special thanks to our partner, YesStyle for joining the project.

Follow us at @Kpop4Haiti!

We’ve ALL come together (all fandoms, all K-Pop and J-Pop lovers) to figure out a way on how we can help support the disaster victims of Haiti. There are many ideas circulating, some amazing ideas that I know are going to be successful and heartwarming. I know for sure that the wonderful ladies at @AsianPopAddict have a lot of light bulbs flickering above their heads and I can’t wait to tell you all once everything is finalized!

For now, though, @projecthottest, @twelfs, and yours truly have banded together to start up a donation fund in which ALL proceeds will go to the Haitian people. KPOP Helps Haiti is something we need all fandoms to participate in, all fans to donate anything that they possibly can. Whether it be a small amount or a large one, whatever you can do to help will help the Haitian people tremendously.

We have set up a PayPal account (link at the end of this post), and we encourage you to give what you can. If you are unable to donate anything personally, try to encourage those around you to donate. That is also doing your part in helping our fellow human beings who are in dire need of help at this time. I don’t know how long we’re going to keep this open for, or how much we plan on raising. At this point in time I will just be thankful for any amount raised.

You do have to be a registered PayPal user to be able to donate using the link at the bottom of the post. If you do not feel comfortable registering with PayPal, then we will be accepting “snail mail” donations. I will be setting up a P.O. Box within the next few days, so if you are interested in that, email us and please include in the subject line “Snail Mail Donation.” As soon as I get the P.O. Box set-up, I will email you back with the address, as well as post it on here. I will document every piece of mail that comes in, how much you donated, who donated, when it was sent, and when I received it. If you want “proof” that you received it, then be sure to include enough postage for me to send you an invoice/statement saying that we did receive it.

We’re devising a list of organizations we’re going to donate this to, but we’re leaving it all up to you to decide. Should it all go to one charity, like the American Red Cross? Or should it be divided amongst multiple charities? We’re sticking to the big, reputable organizations to avoid all the shady people out there who would use a time like this to scam kind-hearted people. Let us know (in the comment section or through email which charities you think and suggest we donate it to. If you do email, please place in the subject line “Charity Suggestion”).

I will continue to annoy the daylights out of you all and urge you to do what you can to help. And you know, I’ll also continue to keep you updated with everything that’s going on!

We have created a Twitter account, @Kpop4Haiti, which we highly, highly, highly suggest you follow as that will be the easiest way to get ALL the information firsthand!

Thank you all so much! Let’s do this!

UPDATE: Cash or Money Order Donations

I’m not going to do the P.O. Box, but I do have an address for you to send your cash or money orders to that will be easier for me to keep track of. ALL instructions (and address) are included on the donation form, which you will have to receive by EMAILING me.

In the subject line, simply type, “Donation Form Request.” I will get back to you within twenty-four hours with a PDF file attached to the email. I would upload it onto here, but it won’t let me so we’ll just do it this way.

Please, please, please fill out this form in its entirety. I like keeping records. I am very, very detailed when it comes to things like this (you have to be) so please fill out all the fields. Generally, I am asking for your name, your address (I won’t stalk you), your email address, your Twitter account, how much you’re donating, what the USD currency of that is (obviously for those outside of the States), if you prefer any specific organization we will donate all of it to, and your signature and the date.

There are instructions if you are sending concealed cash. If you wish to send a personal check, please tell me in the email that you’ll send requesting the form that you wish to do that, so we can come to an understanding on why I am very hesitant on that. Also, if you want “proof” that I received your donation, there’s specific instructions on how you can receive that.

It’s all VERY easy and will take less than three minutes to fill out. Make sure you are able to open Adobe PDF files, as well.

So, EMAIL me right now and I will be replying back with the attached donation form!

We would want to thank those who have been showing a dedication in trying to make this project work. A big thank you to @AsianPopAddict for their amazing #asianpop4haiti radiothon as well as sir @DrunkenTigerJK who has been kind enough to assist and guide us in organizing this project.

Sorry Sorry is the hit single of Super Junior’s third album which is also entitled “Sorry Sorry”. This single was written by the brilliant Korean composer, Yoo Young Jin. The catchy and phenomenal dance steps was coreographed by Nick Bass, an experienced coreographer who has worked with numerous famous American stars, such as N*Sync, Usher, and Britney Spears. “Sorry Sorry” album has sold out more than 200.000 copies in Korea itself. Not to mention other album sales around Asia. The song has gained international recognition for Super Junior and Korean music in general. It has won many awards, one of them was the prestigious Daesang Award (Album of the Year) at Korea’s Golden Disk Award. The single “Sorry Sorry” is really popular. Even the famous American blogger, Perez Hilton, once blogged about how he really liked the song. Sorry Sorry is basically played everywhere. Clearly, 2009 is the year of Sorry Sorry.

In order to celebrate this, ELFs, Super Junior’s fans, wanted to make #sorrysorry as a trending topic in Twitter, so that more people will know about the single’s glory. The hashtag #sorrysorry started to appear on Twitter Trending Topic list around 9 PM KST. It stayed there for eight and a half hours, proving how popular “Sorry Sorry” is around the world.

It’s the 6th of November! It means today is Super Junior’s 4th anniversary! This is the full report on how we gave the boys an international recognition as a gift!

Being a Trending Topic in Twitter means whatever the Trend is will be read by Twitter users all around the world. We, as top frequent Twitter user, happened to realize that Super Junior had never actually made it to the Trending Topic, despite they’re the largest boyband in the world. So we prepared this project a few months ago, gathered followers and contributors, and finally WE’RE HERE!

This isn’t our first attempt at making the boys a Trending Topic. The first one failed, but we immediately learned from our mistakes. It took more than 1000 followers and finally Super Junior got the international recognition they deserve on Twitter. Some people might think that this is nothing compared to other bigger projects, but truthfully, we never feel like anything is wasted on them. They’re all just worth it. And this is the least we can do as Twitter ELFs, making sure that they deserve the international recognition for their awe-inspiring performances for the last four years. With billions of people all around the world using twitters, chances are they might spot the boys in the TT list and just like the rest of us, curiosity takes over and make them google “Super Junior”. As a matter of fact, last night we found this girl who had no idea what Super Junior was and when she saw them on the Trending Topic list, she looked them up and tada! Born a new ELF!

We started exactly at 12 AM KST. ELFs on Twitter started tweeting like crazy. Guess what? Super Junior immediately made it to Trending Topic list in 15 minutes! Then, as a support to our strong man, Kangin, we also tweeted #standbykangin and half an hour later, the Trend popped up in the list along with Super Junior! Seeing #standbykangin in the list is a proof that a lot of people support Kangin. See that, netizens?

When we saw the duo Trends on the list, we became even more excited and tweeted like crazy. Eventually, the Trends climbed up the Trending Topic list. #standbykangin managed to reach No. 6, while Super Junior successfully reached No. 2! Even more! #standbykangin kept its spot in the list for 3 hours, while Super Junior gloriously stayed in the list for 5 hours! That was more than we could ever imagine!

Therefore, on this opportunity, we’d like to thank you and congratulate you for making a Super Junior history in Twitter universe. Have I mentioned that this is the first time the boys broke into the Trending Topic list? Yes, each and everyone of us is a part of that. For not only it’s a celebration for Super Junior, but also for us! Our boys must be so proud to see our achievement. We also like to thank every fandom who have helped us in making this project a BIG success. You must know that it wasn’t just ELFs who tweeted the Super Junior and #standbykangin Trends. There were also Hottests, Cassies, VIPs, Wonderfuls, Shawols, Black Jacks, and so many others that we can’t name them one by one. We’d also like to thank every fansite and K-Pop community for helping us. Thank you, Korean Pop Addict, Jay Sky Message, TVXQ Forum, Project Hottest, SM-Town Lovers, Ice Plus Coffee, and so many others! We are thrilled to see the K-Pop family as a unity!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

WE MADE IT! SUPER JUNIOR JJANG!

they made the project awhile ago.. way before the DUI case and amp told me she was flying to korea to send the project book to kangin through sukira. Haven’t been able to get in touch with her since then, but hopefully kangin has seen how many people actually choose to stand by him, and those are only thai ELFs… she also told me that Kangin and Donghae also saw the big banner of “Believe In Kangin” and he waved, and gave two thumbs up…

If you go to SJ-Market, that’s what you see in the main page.. a pop up linked directly to the ELF’s War thread. I was quite surprised since i thought it was over already [REFER TO THIS ARTICLE]. So i guess they are starting another war on KRY’s 3rd anniversary – Nov 15.

it’s actually a poster HTML tag source but i couldn’t make the html source work so i just copied the pictures and only managed to find one link. If you know anything about it, do let us know.

SOOO it’s another war everyone!? and this time they clearly mentioned it’s for the Golden Disk Awards. Golden Disk Awards is one of the most prestigious awards of the year and it’s something to which all kpop singers are looking forward. The winners will be determined by the number of album sales so that is why kELFs are getting more and more aggressive as the event is getting closer. We want to make sure the boys get the awards so please help them! We all know how quick 3jib album is selling in the past few months since the release date, but the problem is, hante chart only counts the sales of version A which means those hundred thousands sales made for version B and C are not counted towards the charts which ALSO means it reduces the chance of SJ getting the award.

FYI, last year, Lee Soo Man won the best producer category…

IT IS A SUCCESS!!!

You guys do remember next week, as at November 6, 2009, is the boys’ 4th anniversary right? … and of course we have prepared something to celebrate that very special moment… we are THE TWITTER ELFS.. and as the name suggests, our project is actually quite predictable and simple. MAKE #superjunior A TRENDING TOPIC!! but let’s not forget someone who has been through a lot in the past few weeks.. someone who has done so much to the group… someone who is in need of our supports the most.. that guy is Kim Youngwoon.. and as true ELFs, we choose to STAND BY KANGIN! We sure don’t want to leave him out of the celebration and that is why we will MAKE #standbykangin A TRENDING TOPIC too!!

So how can we make that happen?

If you’re long enough to be a part of us, you are probably aware of our very first attempt to make #superjunior a trending topic.. We have learnt so much from our mistakes and now that we have received inputs from so many different sources, we’d like you to please read through the instructions provided below with care.

Let’s first learn from our previous mistakes!

- Not enough supporters
- What we did was basically just keep tweeting the same thing over and over and over again until each and every one of us met the twitter limit
- We didn’t set the exact time, but instead we only decided on the date

Now what do we learn from it?

- The concept of trending topics is basically to record the keywords people use the most in their tweets at a particular period of time AND NOT ALL DAY
- Also, the more people use that keywords, the more likely that keywords get into the list AND NOT BY THE NUMBER OF TWEETS

WHAT YOU MUST DO:

- Make as many accounts as possible. That is why we put up this project a week earlier.. so that people can have more time to prepare.
- Start tweeting at the scheduled time – 12AM KST. Twitter has a shelf-life of approximately 11-15 minutes so we need MORE PEOPLE (or at least accounts) to tweet #superjunior and #standbykangin within that time.
- ONE HASHTAG PER TWEET!! The right example: as ELFs, we choose to #standbykangin no matter what happens!! or #superjunior has been a part of myy life.. they deserve international recognition – WRONG example: #standbykangin #standbykangin #superjunior #superjunior

WHAT YOU MUST NOT DO:

- (do not) simply spam #superjunior and #standbykangin!!! Need we remind you that IT’S NOT THE NUMBER OF TWEETS THAT COUNTS BUT IT’S THE NUMBER OF SUPPORTERS / CONTRIBUTORS
- (do not) protect your accounts Twitter will not be able to see your tweets if you lock / protect your accounts and make sure you open it the day before nov 6 cause it may take a while for the system to recognize it.

INSTRUCTIONS

- Login to your original account and tweet anything you want as long as it has #superjunior and #standbykangin in it! DO NOT POST MORE THAN 4 TWEETS
- Logout from your first account and login into your second account and do the same thing like you did with your first account
- Logout from your second account and login into your third account and bla bla bla…
- Make sure you do it real quick so you can tweet with your 20th account within that 15 minutes time

Sounds tedious and old-fashioned?? well we got the solution right here for you

TWEETDECK!!

Yes.. for those of you who aren’t familiar with tweetdeck, let us introduce you the power of tweetdeck ^^
Tweetdeck allows you to add multiple accounts to the system which we find really helpful for us admins who are both updating our own accounts as well as twelfs. The list of the accounts are located right above the tweet box which are clickable. You can disable one account by putting it to off and enable the other one.. BUT YOU CAN ALSO ENABLE ALL OF YOUR ACCOUNTS! how great is that?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TWEETDECK USERS

- Add all of your accounts that have been registered before to the system
- Enable all of your accounts
- Type in anything you want in the tweetbox as long as it has #superjunior and #standbykangin (eq. happy 4th anniversary to #superjunior and we choose to #standbykangin) and hit enter
- Just wait for a couple of seconds and you’ll see the exact same words being tweeted by ALL of your accounts.

Just make sure you make as many accounts as possible (we’re not sure whether tweetdeck has a limit but you can try) but remember NOT TO SPAM AND STICK WITH 4 TWEETS PER ACCOUNT

So there you go… please read through them carefully cause if you miss a few parts of the instructions you might not be able to get the boys into the trending topics.

In case you’re wondering, why do we use #superjunior instead of say… #suju4thanniv or #happy4thannivsuju.. because if this project ends up in success, it will be the FIRST TIME EVER in twitter history Super Junior gets into the trending topic so wouldn’t it be better for us to let the world know of the existence of SJ first?

If you have any questions, we’re more than happy to help you out.. just drop us a tweet or email..

Thank you EVERYONE!! Let’s make it happen!!
