Charice Pempengco returned and performed again on Korean TV talent search show “Star King” on July 24 and wowed Korean stars and the audience, and even brought tears to a member of a K-pop girl group.

The Filipino singer first performed on the show in 2007 when she made a huge impact with her powerful singing voice. She also sang “A Whole New World” with Super Junior’s Kyuhyun back then.

That video, plus her immense talent became her ticket to her appearances on both the “Ellen Degeneres Show” and “Oprah,” which eventually led to bagging her an international recording contract.

On her July 24 appearance on “Star King,” Charice performed an array of songs. This included a medley of Whitney Houston songs in which she sang “When You Believe” with Korean singer So Hyang.

Charice and f(x)’s Luna also sang “One Moment in Time,” which got the latter teary-eyed. The Filipino singer then sang “Pyramid,” which is the title track of her first international album.

Korean stars who were there included members of Super Junior, CNBlue, f(x) and SHINee.

It was a triumphant return for Charice who was virtually unknown when she appeared on the program in 2007.

Her latest performance on “Star King” earned her praises on YouTube.

One of these read: “Charice, you, my girl was awesome, really! You’re up a head, very strong performance, we can really see that you enjoyed your third time on the show.”

Another lauded: “Wow she still amazes me. Her talent is, as Kang Ho Dong (the ‘Star King’ emcee) would say, unbelievable!”

Mainland Chinese solo artist Han Geng was in Beijing this past weekend holding his “Geng’s Heart” concert for two days, and will next head to Taiwan on August 15th to hold his first event there at National Taipei University’s Recreation Center. Hangeng’s solo album 《庚心》 will be released throughout Asia on 27th July. On top of that, he released the first song from his album 《My Logo》, from this week onwards, 10 songs from his solo album will be released. Today, the collaboration of “袁惟仁” & “方文山”, 《心疼•笔记本》 (Heartache Notebook) was released online on NetEnt.
Since debut, Hangeng has always been into songs that are more suitable for dance. In 《Heartache Notebook》, Hangeng tried ballad for the first time.
《Heartache Notebook》is the collaboration of “袁惟仁” & “方文山”, so as to present Hangeng’s image of gentleness. This portrays the innocence of a generation of stubbornness and regret, also whereby everyone has experienced embarrassment and dreams.
It is reported that in Hangeng’s album, 《飞蛾扑火》,《Say No》,《撑伞》 will be made as a film trilogy, using the tracks and MV to tell a touching story of a new king. Furthermore, the MV of《Heartache Notebook》will be also the side story that will be background story of Hangeng’s film trilogy.
