Super Junior’s Kangin (Kim Young Woon, 24) had a drunk hit and run issue which had already been highly criticized and disapproved at, but the controversy grows bigger with this picture he took with a woman at the bar from where his first incident occured.
Since the 18th, different websites posted the picture which was captured from the woman’s mini homepage and netizens tried to figure out when the picture was uploaded; however, the exact date of the photo was unclear due to the many edits performed on it.
The woman with Kangin in the photo just put up the picture with the words “I was lucky. He’s fun and talks well and drinks well and he’s handsome but he needs to improve his language (needs to stop cussing).”
After the netizens discovered the woman’s mini homepage, she was attacked and even her personal information was revealed.
One netizen said “I don’t understand why this woman would upload such a photo right in the midst of such Kangin’s current controversy”
Others were throroughly disappointed in Kangin yet again. Netizens also said “He’s an idol singer who depends on his image because it’s his job; why in the world would he agree to take such a photo?” “Is his job in the entertainment industry a mistake?” etc.
Other netizens fired back saying “He was drinking at a bar with a woman and took a picture, why does that make you so angry?” and these people expressed that there is nothing majorly wrong with taking the harmless picture.
Meanwhile, Kangin’s company, SM Entertainment, spoke out on his drunk hig and run incident and announced that he is banned from any activities at least until the end of the year.

I don’t get the deal with the picture either, but these are bad times for him already, and the picture is being used to further aggravate fans, and non-fans as well. The entry is the key thing here, actually, not the actual picture itself. KangIn drinks well, and cusses. He’s a normal human being. But because he’s an idol, it’s.. different. It tarnished the image of him to people who don’t know who he is.
Either, I hope she’s brave (and stupid) enough to tell off the people commenting on her minihompy to shut the hell up, because KangIn’s human.
Or, if she did this only to gain attention, then I hope the comments drive her off from ever posting such a thing again.
That being said, because KangIn is human, and though this has nothing to do with the drunk-driving, I still think this shows that 1) he needs to get help, and 2) he needs to be punished. Because he is human, and needs to correct his problems, and be punished – not get 2 min. of jail time like Paris Hilton after her DUI.

Whoever this woman is, she picked the best time to come out with that picture. *sarcastic* She’s trying to be popular and now she is, but look at her reputation. She deserves to be picked on.
I agree that Kang In deserves to be punished (as every citizen of any country has to be). He WAS part of the fight in that club and has a DUI case. He does deserve to be punished and not overlooked. We all know he’s sorry for what he has done but this is the consequence of such actions. Just my two cents. Don’t kill me.
This is no “Next Jae Beom” thing. Jae Beom was attacked by netizens but he didn’t disobey the law. Jae Beom’s case was just a small thing pulled out of proportion. This is worse. So well, netizens are having a field day.
Anyway, what they did to Jae Beom and what CAN happen to Kang In is just plain stupid. Netizens have gone too far with Jae Beom and they’re out to get Kang In.
In my opinion, Kang In deserves to face his consequences AS A KOREAN CITIZEN but that’s it. True, he’s an idol and has not been a good role model to his fans. But fans should see that this is what happens when someone disobeys the law, right?
Netizens have no right to sign those petitions regarding banning Kang In from SuJu and act as if they have no skeletons in their own closets. Kang In deserves to serve to be punished by the law as an ordinary citizen but he is still human who can be hurt by netizens and their absurd and worthless petitions.
I do hope Kang In would go through this well. It would be swell if he returns SuJu (and a plus if he learns from all those). Whatever the Korean government and SMent decides to do, I hope Kang In would learn from that. I wouldn’t want to see him go…
